acetone with a twist

I know this acetone has come up a lot but I tried this new twist & it seems to work even better 2 oz acetone 2 oz xylene 2 oz synthetic 2 cycle oil ..... I gave it a try & went 98 miles on 3.6 gallons of gas that’s on a 99 GT automatic with 145,000 miles 63 miles was highway & the rest city I tried to keep it under 65 mph & was running 37 psi in my tires at $4.40 a gallon any safe trick is worth a few gallons ! a few fill-ups pays for all the materials

Well I dont think I will be pouring all that junk into my car being I have almost got that same mileage without that stuff. Think its pretty easy to get that kind of mileage just with driving smart.

I wouldnt call that a safe trick. That stuff will melt plastic and eat the paint
off your car.

i have tried acetone in my car before and i have also tried toulene. toulene can be used as an octane booster. it is used in octane boosters as well. i think straight toulene is liek 117 octane or something like that and can be gotten at any paint store.

oh and gas tanks are pretty strong heck gasoline can also eat plastics. put some gas in a plastic cup it will eat that. but 3 oz of acetone would be so diluted in 15 gallons of gas it wouldnt be able to eat that plastic.

seems retarded to put all the shyt in your engine. like it says above. smart driving will more than likely net the same results.

not to be deterred by a few negative fools I had a buddy who had to make a long drive to pick up an engine he has an older F350 which gets terrible mileage I asked if he wanted to give the mixture a try he said sure so after filling the tank we added it , round trip all highway was about 330 miles on returning it took 18 gallons he said that he never got that good mileage even when the truck was new ! I will let TRUE-BLUE do the math since he had the most to say

By the time I get to the worm I have already forgotten about him.

These fads have come and gone ever since the car was invented. If it works for you great, I just have a hard time believing that there is some kind of miracle cure like the tornado air filters and spark plugs with about 10 different electrodes.

Are you sure the mileage gain had nothing to do with the extra tire pressure or change in driving style?
My last trip, I got 26mpg going 70-75mph. I can imagine if I could stand to drive 65, I'd get 27-28mpg.
Also, on such a short trip, the exact amount you fill up with makes a big difference. Just filling at a different pump can make as much as a half gallon difference because some pumps turn off very easily and quickly while others cause gas to spill out as they shut off.

Try your trick over 5 tank fulls then come back and run 5 without your mixture. That is the only way to tell if it works. If you do see a gain then total up the cost of your material and compare the difference in savings. Sounds like the cost savings is negligible.

I've tried the acetone trick on my R/C airplane engines. Some are 2 stroke, some are 4 strokes. The nitro fuel that they use is moderately viscous so it doesn't get as much of a "mist" coming out of the needle valve and into the carb as it does a "spray" of droplets. The acetone thinned it out a little bit without removing the potency from the fuel - which is made up of castor oil, nitro methanol, and a few other additives/lubes. My flight times increased - there's obviously no way to dyno one of those engines (or is there?). Squeezed about an extra 10-15% of flight time out on an average basis. I would still be scared to put acetone in my cars gas tank. Note: the gas tanks in my air planes are a rubberized plastic compound and they have resisted any sort of deterioration other than what's normal for the standard fuel compounds. I put about an ounce?(one shot glass) in with a gallon of nitrofuel.

My brother inlaw puts acetone in his cars tank...he now swears by it. He drives the same route everyday to work (70+ miles all highway). Been doing it for years...always got I believe around 27-28MPG everytime. Tried the acetone thing and it went up to 33MPG....hes been doing it ever since and gets 33MPG with the car. (ford escort I think)

I have no reason to doubt him...and my sister is the one who was telling me all about it. He is actually 2nd in command @ their local coca cola plant and makes great money, but they are always trying to save a dime

it does work but is it worth the time to get some and put it in? well that depends on if you wanna get this stuf from home depot. its not going to harm your motor at all. its like how some people put rubbing alcohol in there tanks to lower emissions. and my toluene trick use to be run in formula 1 for racing fuel. but its up to you guys if you wanna give it a shot. read up on it in google you will find a good bit of reading about both.
