Adjust Auto-trans. linkage....

Is there a way to adjust the Auto-trans linkage? When the car is in park, the interior shifter reads park. When I put the car in reverse, its closer to Nuetral. When I put it in Nuetral, it reads Overdrive on the shifter. When I put it in Over-Drive, it reads, regular drive.

When its in drive, reads 1. I cannot go any further and put it into 1st gear manually. I swapped this trans from another car. Is there a way to adjust the linkage so I can get into 1st and have all the numbers/letters line up? Thanks!

The best way I can think of would be to pop the car on some stands, disconnect the linkage, put the shifter in neutral, pop the selecter 2 clicks on the trans, and tighten the linkage back up. It should be good after that as long as you don't mess with the TV cable and need to readjust it, too.
