Adjust belt tensioner?

When I first got the car, i needed to replace the alternator due to voltage problems, and my new alternator has about 40k on it and the bearings are shot. My belt I just replaced about 12k ago because i deleted the power steering and the smog pump, and the belt is shot. The belt does feel unusually tight, but the tensioner is still reading in the normal range. How can I adjust the tensioner to make the belt looser? Thanks!

BASICS:

Belt too tight.

How do I loosen the tension?

The beauty of the tensioner is that it adjusts itself. If it shows that it's in the correct tension range double check the pulley alignment of the new alternator vs. the rest of the pulleys.

The belt would normally be shredding an edge first in this scenario.

u can see if u can get a longer belt. when i was running just the alt i went up and they had them in 1/4 longer at a time on most sizes. if they dont then u can drill a new hole in the arm to move it. it has a pin that holds in in spot then the bolts holds that in the pin
