Hi I have an 89 mustang gt 5.0, The kick down only comes in when I mash the gas threw the floor, is there a way for me to adjust that or should I take it to a trans shop?

Thanks for any help

at what speeds does the car shift. Look ander the hood where the T.V. cablehooks up to the TB make sure the bushing is there and in good shape.

What I meant is at what speed does the car shift from 1rst to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th. That cable controls line pressure in the trans. It also affects shift timing. Actually the proper way to adjust that cable is to put a pressure guage on the trans and then adjust it
