Is the cable stretching or is the adjustment backing off? Most adjustable cables have a lock nut to hold the adjustment.

If the jam nut is missing from the clutch fork end of the cable, then you can score another one from your local hardware store to stop it from un-adjusting itself; if the nut is still in place, then your cable is stretching, because most adjustable cables frankly are garbage as they are made very weak and tend to be short-lived before breaking (and eventually leaving you stranded somewhere).

The BEST solution to this in either case would be to get an OEM **FORD** cable from Maximum Motorsports - the "universal" one costs about $75 shipped. If you already have a firewall adjuster for your cable, then this will be all you need to make the non-adjustable cable work with your BBK quadrant - just hook one end on the clutch fork, the other on the quadrant, and then just dial out the firewall adjuster to take up the slack until you get the pedal set where you like it to catch. They last WAY longer than aftermarket cables (even the non-adjusting OEM replacement cables sold at Autozone and such places), they operate VERY smoothly, and they take YEARS to even begin to stretch out at all. Pretty much you set them up once, and then fugeddaboutit.
