Adjustable Clutch Cable

i installed a new adjustable clutch cable when in installed a new clutch and so far i have snapped two clutch cables within about 4 years or so when i installed the clutch and i ordered the clutch cables from Dallas mustang. where is that best place to order one so this wont happen again because i read somewhere that some place get them from like china or something and they have been prone to break or snap and i had them installed by a mechanic.

thanks for any info it will be greatly appreciated

adjustable cables suck. Get a Ford cable if possible and a firewall adjuster.

+1

Don't even settle for one of the non-adjustable OEM-fit cables from a parts store. I've snapped one of those in less than 9 months and wound up going back with the 15+ year old cable I had taken out to replace when I did a clutch swap at the same time. This is one of those rare occasions where the name brand OEM part is actually far superior to the aftermarket stuff.

Ford cable + FWA + aluminum quad = :)

Maximum Motorsports has it available as a "universal" cable for like $75 shipped. Just transfer the bracket off your old one onto the new one, take off the rubber firewall grommet and trim off those four little tabs so you can poke it into your firewall adjuster, and you're all set for anoter 100K+ miles. :nice:

+1 on the MM universal. I went through alot of cables on my 92 before I listened to everyone on here and bought it. Its long like hell so you have it looping almost to the battery but you wont break that one :nice:

I have a newer non-adjustable Ford cable on the vert and just installed an MM cable on the 94. The latter is pure  It feels hydraulic. If you have LT's, the MM cable is the way to go as well.

If you want an adjustable cable, I had very good luck with my old Ford adjustable (with a single hook SVO quadrant). The cable quality was very good IMHO when I compared it to the new non-adjustable cable I was replacing it with.

Good luck.

k thanks alot guys so i should just go back to the stock cable i just gotta find it in my garage somewhere i hope i didnt throw it out with the old clutch i had and no i wasnt hard on the clutch it was just normal daily driving.

should i get this kit and use the old firewall adj and quadrant and ill be good to go???
