Advantages of a 5.0?

The 5.0 HO's (the ones with the roller cams) are well built for all the previously stated reasons, but nobody mentioned the fact that they had forged pistons, most engines have cast pistons. (or those icky hypereutectic ones but we wont go there)
What's wrong with hypereutectic pistons? I had a set in my 400 horse 5.0, and they held up better than the block did. Pistons 1---- Block 0 ( block cracked) Long as you're not into NOS or supercharging, they're as good as any other piston design.

I agree... you can even use nitrous, so long as you don't get stupid.

Thanks, I think too many, make too big a deal of a motor having forged pistons. They don't make it any faster, and they certainly don't improve the longetivity any better than cast or hypereutectics if you're not into forced induction. Sort of like hearing the Chevy guys brag about their "4 bolt main 350's". Four bolt main? forged pistons? Steel crank? So what?
