Once again I'm in the same boat... Do I want to get rid of "Orange" to get "Blackie" , or just get a supercharger and a few more mods?

http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=934546

This is what I am very much considering. VERY much. It's exactly what I want. (black on black 96-98 cobra, 5 spd with 4:10's already installed)

The only ones near here are in the $19K range (which is rediculous) and I'm not 100% sure how to bring a car into canada...

I mean I love my car to death, but....

It's been nearly written off before I got it, I almost wrote it off, plus I've been in 3 accidents with it (none of which are my fault)....
I have an airbag issue (light stays on and I can't retrieve any codes from the snap-on scanner tool) so I can't repair it.
It seems to be a target to vandals, 3 times now...
The pinion seal leaks and I can't repair that either (long story)

I have also spent alot of $$ on it that I won't get back...
But I could probably sell it and get enough $$ from the sale to get "Blackie" stright-up plus have a bit of spending $$ left over.

I don't even know why I am asking, everyone will say to get "Blackie"...

If someone is near there do you maybe want to do me a favour and check it out for me, to help a fellow 'stanger out?

I will wait a few days for feedback from the crowd here then make my decision.

Thanks
-Shawn

I had to go through the hassle of importing my '02 GT INTO the US. I had to:

1) Drive it to US Customs, there they checked that my gauge cluster has MPH markings, I had an EPA sticker, and it wasn't stolen.

2) Drive to the title bureau and get an Ohio title made up

3) Take it to the LICENSE bureau and get it plated

If you goto --> http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/importation/impusae.htm

There is a PDF that you can download that will show you what vehicles can me imported from the US into Canada. It looks like the only Ford passenger cars that CAN'T be imported are:

- 2002 - 2005 Thunderbirds (You need to buy a colored parking lamp cover, then it's OK)
- 1993 & 1993 Thunderbirds
- 1992 & 1993 Cougars
- 1992 TO 1994 Capris
- 2001 & 2002 Escort sedan and wagon
- 2001 TO 2003 Escort ZX2 coupe
- 2005 & 2006 Ford GT

Now, I would think you would have to get the car Saskatchewan saftied and then run to SGI to get plates and a registration on it.. You will for sure also need a bill of sale..

I bought a 2002 Focus ZX5 here in Ohio that I plan to take back when I go. So I will be in the same boat as you, except there is no sale..

I would only say get the Cobra because it has very low miles, it's like new and only has had 2 owners. Obviously it's your call.

I'd get a Subaru STI after you get rid of it.

I'm thinking I will speak with my acquantence about getting this car. (He just started importing cars a few (10 or so) years ago). The guy still hasn't gotten back to me with a vin yet though (but it is the weekend)...

So monday I will 1) talk to my buddy 2) inquire about a loan 3) call riv 4) get this moving 5) be happy

I really do think I will go through with this, I just need to get someone to buy my car. I doubt it will be hard though.

Thanks for the advice, and keep giving me more...

and if anyone in or very near Des Moines wants to check this car out for me it would be appreciated!!!!
