I decided to jump in with both feet. I installed the AEM and now I can only get the car to idle at 1600. No matter what I do, I can't get it to come down. Any AEM users out there with some tips to try?

Thanks

Scott

I ran into the sam problem with mine, I finally took it to a professional. I don't know where you are from but Ray at Perfomance Specialites in Pottstown PA did an awesome job with mine.

It is a stand alone ecu. It is specific for the 94-95 GT. They make units for a lot of different makes.

Thanks Brian, I am in Miami. I figured, I will have to take it to a tuner. At least I know sombody else had a similar problem. I keep hoping I will be able to get it going and save some money.

i know this isnt too cool to ask but how much does an aem unit specific to the 94-95 mustangs? how much does it cost to get tuned at a reputable speed shop? it sounds like its one of the best out there. i mean the fact that it makes its own fuel map according to your wb's air/fuel mixture is one of the best things i have heard about any tuning device on the market.
btw the reason i want to know about the cost is to weigh it and its capabilities against other tuning devices so that i can make the best decision according to my car's (special) needs.
thanks and good luck,
-fawcett

Grady is right on. My wife said I would be walking with a limp if she finds out what it cost. I hope she never does. A lot of the online speed shops carry it. It is really nice to be able to make real-time changes to your tune. I finally got the car to idle and now it is pig rich. I get to fix that next. It gives you total control, but the rest is up to you or the professional you take it to for a tune. The base tune you get is for a stock 302. So, you will have to work in mods that you have. I love mine, but you can't be in a hurry with it and you have to want to learn it.

Hey Scott

Is there any kind of forum or community of AEM tuners like there is for the PMS, EEC Tuner, and Tweecer that you could get involved with for some help and support?

I looked into the AEM a good while back and it looked really slick.

I can't imagine who would complain about the twEECer being too confusing?!!

Doesn't the AEM cost like over $1k?

Yea I have 4 guys that use the AEM that post quite a bit on my board. Gary, John, Scott all use it and Bob Kurgan can sometimes offer help as well since he is a dealer/tuner.

Thanks for the plug Mike and Zenboy.

AEM does have a user fourm, but it has been down for a while. It just came back up a couple of days ago. It did not seem real active. I put a post on stangtuning, but have not heard anything yet. I did a search over at both places, but there were not that many posts. It is so much fun living on the edge. I did it to myself. I wanted to have total control, now I got it. I wanted to be able to make adjustments at the track, but I need to be able to get to the track first.
