I see they list the exhaust ports as being raised....should I expect any clearance issues with my headers and steering shaft? Headers are Mac full lengths.
Did you already purchase the heads? Have you checked out the TFS11r's?
If i were in this predicament; I'd ask how much of a raise in height it really is & if it'll require a different exhaust flange bolt pattern header design. If they utilize a stock flange bolt pattern with a 1\2" higher port location; then I'd look at your current exhaust, visualize lifting it 1\2", & seeing\visualizing (while under the car) if you might run into an interference issue or not. Most guys with high port heads spend a sizable chuck of change on a set of headers via Kooks or full tilt custom made on your car set of headers. "You gotta pay to play" comes to mind in this case......
I can tell you with the new valve location there is more PTV clearance than with the regular wedge head for most. Do you know the piston brand and cam specs? You could contact Woody @ Fordstrokers. He would have a better idea and is a TFS dealer.
I think you'd have plenty of room. Obviously you need to check. When I talked to Woody he told me that with the revised valve angle he was seeing major improvements on PTV clearance in most applications. I have a set of 205's w/2.08 valves. Going on a 302 stock shortblock with a custom cam from Bullet(Freezy designed). Running mid 220's dur and .525 lift and its designed to clear(again I will check). I would just call one of the pro's and ask them. Woody was great with answering my questions on these heads and going forward with my next motor.I'm pretty sure it's an SRP piston, and I'm running an AFM N-91. I had plenty of clearance with my C90E's but they also only had 1.90 valves in stock location compared to the 2.05 or whatever the 11R's have.
