- Fel-Pro 1/4" cork gaskets for the VC covers (I do not remember the part#). If your rockers aren't huge, I'd try to re-use the stock gaskets.

- Fel-Pro 1011-2 head gaskets.

- Fel-Pro 1250 lower intake gaskets.

You may run into clearance problems between the intake elbow (specifically the EGR mount) and the taller valve covers. A grinder solves the problem quickly.

Hey hairy, im gonna be using 1.6 stud mount from comp cams. Do you think i can reuse the gaskets? and when you say clearance issues, should i fork over the dough and get the phenolic spacer and egr extender adapter or should i whip out the grinder? how much did you grind and where did you grind?

Probably. You will almost certainly have to grind some from the inside of the covers, though. I actually ran into some clearance problems between the rocker studs themselves and the covers, just had to grind down on the ribs inside the covers a little bit.

I ground about 1/8 of an inch from the bottom of the EGR valve itself as well as the mounting point on the elbow. Really not all that much, took just a couple minutes, and it does not interfere with the operation of the EGR valve at all.

If you use the stock VC gaskets, it might not be a problem at all. However, a friend of mine just put on the same intake you have, and he had more of a clearance issue -- but he's also using the trickflow covers (he bought the whole TFS street kit). The shop doing the install just used a 3/8" phenolic spacer to get clearance.

I use FOX valve covers, with that 1/4in cork gasket with my 1.6 stud mount Comp Cam Pro Magnum roller rockers. Had to remove the oil baffle and had to grind a little bit of my "elbow".

My friend with a 95 GT convertible has the TFS kit, which includes the street heat intake, and a 3/8" spacer -- it clears the stock hood (rubs the liner a little, but my Edelbrock does that without a spacer...)

I used fox covers with the cork fel-pro gasket and the elbow and a vaccum connection on the drivers side both hit the valve cover. It was so bad on the elbow side that it caused an intake leak between the upper and lower.

Nice hood What kind is it? How's the fit? How much clearance did you pick up. I've got an R hood to go on, but I don't think it's going to give me enough room.
thanks,
Jared.

maybe my logic was skewed but i really thought it weird that those slats in the middle were just molded and not open. of course then water would get in so i dunno

that is a cobra r 2k hood from designconceptsauto.com. the fitment was great and you pick up a lot of room under there.

I'm running 1.6 Scorpion rockers on Edelbrock pedestal mount heads, which are the same mounting style, deck height, stud length, etc. as AFR. Scorpion rockers are HUGE, and they clear my Fox valve covers with the stock gaskets.

I too had clearance problems with the bottom of the EGR on the valve covers. Once I rounded the bottom off a bit, I was good to go. I think I have about 1/64" clearance now. My intake elbow is VERY close to my oil cap. I have to keep the cap turned a certain way or else the intake tract don't bolt up right. Nothing major though...

I've got access to a machine shop here at school. I may start making my own valve covers that will fit the SN95 with aftermarket rockers and that will clear the EGR and intake elbow.

I can't belive this. Am I the only with Scorpian 1.6 pedestal mounts that can't get a valve cover to fit? I got some pre EFi 302 valve covers and removed all baffles. I still hit in the top corners on the front and backs, at least on the passenger side. I just talked to Harold at blue thunder and he said no one has ever called about this before, except in relation to some small block chevys.
I mean I am running really tall covers, double gaskets but the damn indentation for the top corner screws hits the rocker, no matter how much I try to hammer them out.
He told me to belt sand the corners down, and that they would consider putting in 4 rockers with rounded off corners in future kits.
