Anyone got afr renegade 185 heads on a 289 with an rv comp cam? Finally got it running but timing is around d 50 btdc and not the power I think it should have?
The head will work fine.
You really can't put to big of a cylinder head on it.
To have to big of a cylinder head, you would have to have to big of a cam, to big of a intake manifold, to big exhaust system, ect ect.
And if you had all of that, it would probably run great at max rpm.
The intake and camshaft will determine how much air gets into the cylinder. Yes a larger head will allow more, but only to the point of what restriction the intake and cam provide.
