After putting in smoked headlights + silverstars

A buddy of mine and I just put in the mustangtuning smoked headlights with clear corners and silverstars. It was at night so I then told him to turn on the car and let me look at the lights, and I immediately noticed the headlights filling up with what seemed like some sort of gas. I'm just wondering if it's normal for this to happen with new bulbs/lights, or if that means something got f'ed up. The headlights look great though, and hopefully I'll be able to see better once I get them aimed properly.

And would anyone happen to know if buying the mustangtuning clear fog lights makes any difference? I got sylvania fogs too but can't tell any difference at all, and figure it may be because of the covers. I figure it will at least look better so that the light color matches the headlights, but it's another $80.

The clear fogs are a bit brighter and they look much better. I have them on my car but they will be coming off when I replace the front bumper with the cobra bumper sitting in my garage waiting for paint.

about the gas.....it's a normal thing that happens...well at least in all the times i replaced my bulbs and my bros. I dont know what it is tho, but its done it everytime i put brand new bulbs in. Freaked me out at first, but then it just goes away after about 5 min. It's probably just burning the wires inside the bulbs for the first time and heating up something that makes the light smoke cloud inside.

Watch out when trying to adjust them! 3 our of 4 of the screws are stripped lol.

are u sure the headlights are not condensating. i bought some from ebay and they condensate.

I wish I had money for little things like that.

If I had to take a guess at the smoke I'd say it's probably moisture (from the outside air when you changed the bulb) that evaporates quickly under the relatively intense heat of the bulb.

I say those fogs look great. The smoked lights is the best way to go. But the high intensity light bulbs, may cause a problem in the future. Ford has a TSB for using high intensity bulbs on the factory system, I have seen in a few cases it actually burns up the wires going to the bulb or eventually keeps popping fuses.

Silverstars have the same output as the stock halogens.

I have been a dedicated Silverstar user for a while. That is until they couldn't figure out how to make a fog light bulb that didn't blow after a month. The H/L bulbs in that pic are Silverstars and the fogs are Wagner TruView. Fairly good match, IMO...

I have silerstars in both my headlights and fog lights for a few months and have not blown a bulb. Maybe you have something wrong with your fog light?
