After the KB....

I would go with suspension mods. You'll have crazy power, now you need to get it to the ground. Sticky tires is the easy mod, but there's alot of suspension work that'll make a huge impact.
My Stang is an original Roush Stage II and it came with the Roush V-8 suspension system (front and rear springs, struts, shocks, rear lower control arms, frame connectors, sway bars, etc.) which I think can handle my new found power...am I correct? Or will you suggest any suspension upgrade?

first sticky tires for sure & next a beefed up bottom end i've driven my neighbors s/c cobra a few times (he has 410 rwhp & a equal amount of tq) & when he has the regular tires on it, instead of his e.t. streets, it's completely worthless but when the e.t's go on it's fun time.
Thanks for the advice, but how exactly I can "beef up" my bottom end? I'm a newbe when it comes to engine internals.

From what I've learned thus far, it seems like a stroker kit, ported heads, and S/C cams is the way to go. Now, does a stroker kit includes a new block? Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

Visit www.vtengines.com or www.modularfordpowerhouse.com. They put forged internals in a block bought from Ford-the '03 block for GT's. A stroker kit is something else you can do--from what I know so far, it extends your piston traveling distance, I think. Ported heads will allow more airflow, thus more HP. And cams will allow more intake and exhaust duration as well, thus MORE HP.
Hope I helped answer your question.
I say a built VT stroker, T&J performance stage 3 heads w/ blower cams, Suspension, and some sticky tires
How much $$$ will I have to shed if I want to get these mods? I currently have like $5,000 to spare. Where can I start?

Honestly, plan on about $6-7000 for the bottom end and cams installed.
WOW! $7K, plus the $5K I just spent on the KB S/C Kit is $12K!!!! I guess I just got stung by the horsepower bug. This is like a drug...knowing I will soon have 400+rwhp with my new KB Kit makes me want even more Hp. I posted in this forum a while back about how "non-sense" is to spend $10K+ on a 2v engine to make 500+rwhp when you can get a brand new 03 Cobra (with $0 down payment) with a potential of making 600+rwhp with a KB kit...and look at me now :D...I'm considering myself spending $12K on my 2v engine....

You should've gone with the 6lb then. Gives you more power than any other bolt ons, and safer than the 9lb.

I thought about buying a Cobra too....I guess I didn't just because I am almost done paying off my car, and I didn't want to start making payments AGIAN. The way I figure it, it just makes more sense to stick with one car and mod the hell out of it!

I guess I will follow your steps.

Exhaust...

The KB will make it fast, exhaust will make it sound fast too... :nice:

It can be a lot of fun letting ricers stay a couple of feet in front of you thinking they are winning with their fart pipes only to watch you blow by smoking the tires and giving them a taste of the sound of real performance. No matter how much they spend, they can't get that sound... :D

It shouldn't cost him 7k to rebuild if he doesn't get any headwork done. I say go with a set of somewhat aggressive cams (make you cream your jammies when you hear how awesome it sounds), forged rods and pistons, crank, and have that installed.

I'm guessing on $ here:
cams - $550
forged rods/pistons - $1500
forged crank - $800
install -$1200
Thats 4,050...

What am i missing?
Also if you build it right for like a 8.1:1 -> 8.4:1 compression ratio you'll be able to get alot more boost out of your supercharger / octane fuel you are running.

Oh wow, this thread was revived! Doing it myself? Hmmm...I'm not sure about that. Although I would love to do it, I'm not mechanically inclined nor have the appropiate tools (hmmm, now that I remember, my new neighbor has a Snap-On truck). Plus the wife would kill me if I do that type of job on our garage :) Anyways, for now I guess I'm putting the forged internals project off. I'm saving up for a 06 Cobra. I would only do it now if I fry a piston or a ring with my current setup....but I hope that wont happen for a while....I drive my car like 1000 miles a year. I think my next mod will be an aluminum driveshaft and a Cobra R hood.
