I've tried everything to get the CD player out and it won't budge. So, anyone more "stereo-inclined" than myself have any advice?

You are trying to get out your factory cd player? or an aftermarket one?

If its the stock one, you need this special tool that fits in the tiny holes on all 4 corners of the unit. The tool is basically a set of two prongs... its hard to describe, you'd understand if you saw it. If you don't have it, go to pep boys or somewhere like that and ask. They'll know what you're talking about. Its less than 5 bucks I think.

Aftermarket CD player. It has one of those black frames around it since the player is slightly smaller than the hole. I bought the prongs thinking that they would work but they don't.

Wal-mart brand I think, if that means a hill of beans to anyone.

If I understand what you are saying, the black frame part should just come off, then you need to remove the faceplate of the cd deck. Then there should be 1 lil screw on each side that needs to be pushed up or down so you can slide the head unit out. Atleast thats how mine is.

Kind of hard to describe this without seing it though.

Nope Second owner of the car.

I've been cleaning up his messes for about 8 months now.

All non-engine messes at that.

Hmmm, well I don't suppose he gave you the manual that came with the unit, did he? If he did, you might check that out to see how it was installed. Other than that... maybe go to best buy and ask someone there... maybe in their install dept.

My football coach owns a used car lot and he bought it off of one of our players from several years ago and I bought it off of the coach. Only thing I got was the keys, the keyless entry controller, and the car. I'll figure out how to take it out sometime. I haven't had time to look at it to check to see if what cgrant said would work on my unit.
