Aftermarket ECU users, questions..

NOT Tweecer users..(nothing against Tweecer)

Im looking to get my car running 100%, sick of it always being halfassed, and need the adjustability/tunability of an aftermarket ECU, such as the FAST, DFI (gen7), or ive also been recomended to check out the MicroTech system.

Just trying to get an idea of how many 94-95's have success with any of the above listed systems, how you like them, and how much do you have invested in the complete ECU setup.

Yea, this is in reference to power adder 94-95's.

All the local "big-dogs" here run the AEM, and rave about it.
I have thought about the
PMS, but the AEM has many more functions.

I'm still a "chipped" guy so not much help...sorry

SDS ECU

I have been running the SDS (simple digital system) for 4 years and I have to say it is user friendly. When I get my 427 built I am going to FAST though, it has more features and tunability than the SDS.

I have NO experience with any of them, but I hear nothing but good things about the AEM. I haven't done a lot of research on it, but when the time comes to get one for my '90GT turbo project car I'm already leaning to the AEM setup.

Mike my O4 PMS has been nothing but good to me and I have no exp. with the others.

I have not heard much, if any, good things about the AEM. The best out there is the Big Stuff 3 by John Meaney. The PMS is also a great choice. Hopefully Chris will have a PMS here pretty soon...

Cool, thanks Troy. I'm glad you chimed in here, I figure you'd have a better grasp on it than most because of your http://www.stangtuning.com site. I'll have to research the AEM setup further now that you said that, thanks for the heads up.

Paul, you really need to look into the BigStuff 3. Unfortunately they took down the Gen1 manual, but I have the BS software and it's very cool and have some new features that the FAST and DFI do not have. Although it does not plug into the 60pin like the AEM does. www.bigstuff3.com

Then there is the trust PMS System which works very well and has a ton of users out there. The 04 Model has some really neat features.

I've been doing alot of research about this recently. Originally I was gonna go with the AEM but after talking to a few people changed my mind about that. For a street car it is best to run the stock computer tuned. There is a local tuner who had the AEM on his civic and switched it out to a piggyback setup. Said it takes months to set up an AEM. So then it was left to the tweecer R/T, PMS, and SCT pro racer package. Doing some reading up the SCT is perfect for me. You get all the tunability of the tweecer in a more user friendly software. Plus they give you a tune based on your mods from the start up. The SCT po racer package is the exact program used by all SCT tuners. So I guess there is also literally thousands of tunes at your disposal. Then you get a 4 position flip chip so you don't need to hook up the laptop to change your tune. And burning a new tune takes only 20-30 seconds. The best part is combined with their mass air, you get perfect driveability even with big injectors becuase the mass airs are made by the same company that makes the OEM ones. This is definitly the piggyback I'm getting after X-mas.
