y'know, it's a real short shift, and at first i liked it...but the vibration makes me wonder if i bought a mustang or an armoured personnel carrier....it gets extremely hot, and I can pretty much hear every sound the tranny makes....the "never miss a third gear shift again" claim bit the dust the first time I tried to slam that sucker into place.....the only reason i keep it in my car right now is because it's not the stocker....

other than that....my shifter rocks!

That's funny I have heard the same thing except they all wanted to
throw it in the trash.

I had the Tri-Axe in my t5, it was nice. It seemed to throw the shifter into 3rd which was really nice at the drag slip- I have a rather large stack of time slips and it felt really consistant at the track.

I ended up replacing my stage 1 centerforce clutch and stock flywheel for a afm super king cobra clutch and afm aluminum flywheel. things went well until I made the third pass then my t5 blew up.

I now have a t56 from D&D with that clutch and flywheel combo. For a while I used the stock shifter that came with it but it felt like I was on some river rowing through the gears, Im tellin ya those shifts were real long.

Since I couldnt use the tri-axe I did a lot of shopping around and ended up with the MGW shifter and Gripper shifter ball. At first it was tight, sometimes tough to get into gear but after a few weeks it broke in and now I couldnt be happier. The adjustability is what drew me to buying it, you can angle it anyway you want it and make quick changes on the fly with the supplied allen wrench.

I can tell you one thing, if you go with the MGW shifter- you wont get that buyers remorse feeling after its initial break in.

pm me if you have any questions, good luck making your choice

I have driven cars with Hurst, Steeda (mine) Pro 5.0 and MGW and I liked the Steeda one the best.

I have a Hurst. Never driven anything to compare it too but I like it. Have had a few times where it hasn't wanted to go into third but after driving different ways I think they were due to driver error

I had the UPR in my 88 GT when I bought it, ripped the knob off with all the threads on a 1-2 shift one night. Put a stock stick on it and liked it.

Broke a Hurst Billet Plus in half in my friend's 90 LX. I have driven three cars with that shifter and it's GARBAGE.

Stock shifter > Hurst Billet Plus pos edition
