ok i finally finished the pi headswap and what a pain in the ass that was but its done and i'm happy with it
but i have one question...is there an idle re-learn procedure??
cause at idle i have a random misfire but when i give it throttle it goes away and drives nicely.
anyone else have this problem?
btw there is a tremedous exhaust leak but i'll take care of that next weekend

its gonna take alittle while for the comp to readjust for all that new airflow...make sure you have premium fuel now.

start it let it idle for at least a minute,
turn your ac on let it idle for a minute
drive 10-20 miles NORMAL driving for the PCM to relearn all the new air/fuel curves and use 91 octane...

This worked for me on my last head swap..good luck

It shouldn't misfire at idle, and you shouldn't have to go through a lengthy procedure to relearn anything. As someone suggested, make sure you have premium fuel because you just upped the compression significantly. After that, double check your plugs and connections, and look for any vacuum leaks.

Good luck.

it seemed to go away now..hopefully, but sometimes it seems like it wants to stall but the idle catches itself at about 200rpms and doesn't let it stall (only did that about 2-3times) other than that the car RIPPS... i luv the headswap probably one the best mods i did so far
but my coolant temp never gets in the normal range anymore, i have a 160 t-stat in it that came with the chip
but the car blows good heat
could there be air in the coolant system causing the one sensor to read wrong?

air in the coolant is a possibility, after my intake swap i had to add coolant a couple times until the air was gone.

1st off you need to get-rid of that 160* thermostat and get a 180* or higher then I'd check the plugwires, if there old they may need tobe replaced and what did you do for sparkplugs? also that exhaust leak will give you problems as the O2'(S) wont get a proper reading and can cause all kinds of issues.
