Air Bag Light Question

On my 2002 GT, I am having an intermittent code 32 air bag light flash code. It happens a little more often than every other time I start the car, but it doesn't seem to be tied to moisture or temperature, night or day. Even when the light is doing its thing, the cruise control and the horn both work. It may not be rational, but I fear for my battery. I am reluctant to take it to the dealer at this point, so I reach out here for inspiration and guidance. Is the Code 32 almost always a clockspring? Or What? Rider how are you pulling that code?... My car is a 96, and the OBD2 code reader doesn't pull any code for my light, which is on also...
