Hey guys my car is sputtering and bucking bad enough that I havent been able to drive my car off the block. I have been performing some test and when I slowly rev the car I get close to about 3500 and my air bag light comes on and the check enigne light flashes, And the car kicks its self back down. I'm kinda at a loss at what this could be. If anyone has a similar problem let me know .P.S. my code reader wont pick up my computer and someone suggested using a paperclip. what would i do with the paper clip?

i had something kind of similar happen to me. it turned out being a vacuum leak. the way i found the leak was by spraying the lines with some throttle body cleaner. once the cleaner hit the leak, the engine would sound fine

Sorry to hi-jack but usefull info for everyone I hope. I havn't run the codes yet (only had the car about 1 month and am in the middle of a home remodel. So not much time for the car yet) Will have to go to auto zone to get the codes ran then look up where all my ghost lie.

Was just wondering if a vacum leak caused random chit to flash as it only seems to flash the air bag light when at idle or steady throttle. Nothing under any type of accerlation.

You dont need to go to Auto Zone to find out what Code your Air Bag is Flashing! Count the Flashes and then there will be a pause then count the Flashes then there will be a Long Pause and it will repeat the Code! So you will have a 2 Digit Code if you read it correct.

In a 92 and 93 the Back Up Power Supply is inside the Diagnostic Monitor behind the Climate Controls, I had a similar Problem on my 92 and had to swap in a replacement Monitor.
