So here's the deal... I'm about to sell my 93 to get a 95 that has been slightly tweaked. When I put my Explorer intake on the car a friend of mine decided to detach the hose to the a/c at the top of the car that runs over the intake. One hell of a bad idea. I believe it was the cooling gases escaping... Hence no more a/c. The problem is that I want to get the a/c working before I sell the car. Any ideas how to get this done and which way to do it?

Also at one point I hit a racoon and had to replace my condenser. Well I had a shop do it then with the insurance work and all and I don't know if they replaced the freon with a more friendly substitute or what. So what would your suggestions be as far as that?

I did a lot of searching but nothing to fit my situation. Thanks for any input guys!:D

The service ports are a give away about what type of refrigerant is being used (a sticker should have been placed under the hood too).

See Jrichker and Puter's AC retrofit articles.

Good luck.

The refitted A/C systems are supposed to have blue & red caps over the service ports. The service ports have quick connect fittings rather than a threaded flare connector.

See my sig for a link to R134a conversion.
