(FIXED)Air is brake lines after beading! HELP! (Anti-Lock)

I am Bleeding the brakes on a 99 mustang gt with Anti-lock Brakes.

I have bled the brakes twice now and it still feels as though there is air in the lines up by the Anti-lock brake unit.

Is there something special I have to do to bleed this?

Please Help


Solved the Problem!

First I took it the the H.S. Auto Shop where I graduated from and tried to use there scan tool but was unsucessful.

Then I took it to a dirt road and just got the ABS to work that way, Then blead them. I did this twice and they are solid now!

That saved me $150

If you got air in the main ABS valve body the dealer will have to fix it for you according to Haynes.

Brakes need to be bled after 30k miles.

People get so caught up in mods they overlook preventitive maintenance.

Instead of the next mod, try doing some if you haven't lately. It feels just as good as installing mods and it is usually a lot cheaper and will make your car last longer.

ya you need a scan tool that can actuate the ABS solenoids. you dont necessarily have to go to a dealer to do it. as long as you have FORD ABS support on the scan tool you can do it. ive done it on OBD2 fords with both a Snap-On red brick and a OTC Genisys.

Get a vacuum pump from Autozone for about 20 bucks. Use that to bleed while someone else ensures that the master cylinder stays full of fluid. As the level drops when you pump have them add to it so it doesn't fall below the minimum fill line. This should relieve your air bubble problem.

if its in the ABS hydraulic control unit hes SOL. you need to cycle the ABS solenoids on and off to get the air out.

you can try bleeding the lines at the abs block, but you may need to energize the selenoids
