When I pulled the exhaust off for the T-5 swap I used JB weld and a bolt to seal the bung in the H-pipe where the air pump feeds in. I yanked out the crap (tubes etc.) that went from the engine bay to the exhaust. The egr is blocked off on the intake manifold but everything else is open...The pump is putting hot air into the engine bay, I know I can order the pulley and delete that but what else needs to be sealed up? I there anything on the back of the head or misc. vacuum lines I need to find and seal off? Could this have anything to do with the car running hot?

it shouldnt have anything to do with the car running hot. there are quite a few vacuum lines that need to be capped off as well as the metal tube that is jointly connected to the back of both heads.

Yea when you yank the smog system, there should be 2 vacuum lines that run to 2 different valves on the hoses. Those need to be capped off, just thread a screw in them, make sure it's a tight fit. Then you need to remove the pipe going to the h-pipe (sounds like you already did that). Then there is a pipe that runs to the back of each head, that needs to come off, and the heads need to be plugged as well.

I agree with everything said above, and had a few extra comments. You can get plugs for the back of your heads from a Ford Dealer, they come complete with a coating of lock tight also. The smog delete pullies can be bought on e-Bay and other places, I got mine from UPR and was extremely happy with the overall quality and fit, very nice piece. Good luck.

Yep, they're called thermactor plugs. Although summit also sells them and they're cheaper than ford. But not if you're paying $8 shipping for JUST the plugs.

Chris, doesn't the air thermactor tube have a one way valve to prevent hot exhaust gases from coming back into the tube and into the rubber smog hose? If that's true (I forget if it is) you technically don't have to remove the tube and can jsut leave it uncapped.

Yea I believe you are correct. I was referring to the vacuum lines that need to be capped.
