Ive heard from some people that taking the air silencer off will increase horsepower, but others say it actually decreases horsepower, whos right?

pull the silencer and get a drop in K&N. Then use your money for something worthwhile, like gears/exhaust/timing adjuster/BLOWER.

Whoa....Air silencer, sounds daring to me!! Leave it on, and get a procharger 3 core instead. You will get slightly higher gains with the SC if it is tuned properly.

I ended up putting my silencer back in, because my car was idling rough. It seems fine now

I put my snorkel back on, because I was thinking that it would draw slightly cooler air from the fender well, and because I have zero performance mods.

But, it does seem like the snorkel is a bit too long, almost going all the way to the outer fender wall, so maybe I'll do like some people, and cut a couple of inches off of the end.

Then again, I wonder how much cooler the air is, in the fender well.
