Air Silencer

i just pulled mine off and my exhaust is a little bit louder and the car revs better now from what it feels. i must have gained 50HP! muhahah!
i hope the import scenes dont figure that out! they will have 400HP+ to their wheels if they pull their air silencers off LOL! (joke)

it works better with a K&N, you will get slightly more air without the silencer making your car hardly louder, the purpose of the snorkle shaped thing is to restrict the air coming in to make the car quieter

I lost 25+ hp taking it off. So I put it back on and plugged it off. Now my exhaust is totally quiet.

Really K&N, sheet metal and seals to block heat.

And as expected, removing the silencer worked, increasing power to 223.6 from 219, while peak torque fell a hair to 263 lbs.-ft. However, average power climbed to 184.8 horsepower and the torque average also climbed to 223.5 lbs.-ft., even though the peak was down. An added bonus was that we could now hear a big whoosh of air as it rushed into the 4.6 mill and it sounded good.
