First disconnect the battery, the remove fuse for airbag module. Then remove airbag.

The light will be on and set dtc's, but you can remove the bulb from dash.

Why do you want to remove the airbags?

It is an advanced system with passenger size sensing and safety interlocks. However, if you mess with it you could get seriously injured...

if you remove the air bags you will have to remove the RCM.. if you just unplug the bulb from the cluster the RCM will beep the codes to you. so remove both the RCM and the bulb from the cluster.

Removing the air bag system will not effect OBD2 testing for state inspection becuase they only test the PCM they do not test any of the other modules in the car.
