I'm over in Troy - used to work in Albany before the b*****s laid me off and sent my job to India. Theres a few Mustangs within a block or two of me here, but don't know any of the owners.

Any good shops in the area for getting work done?

Gear work for sure? Maybe head/cam/intake work?

Any tuning places?

I've lived here all my life, but before I got the Mustang, I never had reason to keep an eye out for reputable places for that kinda' work

Nice to hear theres people in my area here on StangNet ... I felt totally alone up here for the longest time

Hey Cynical, welcome aboard. How's life on the other side of the river? There are a few of us around Albany by the looks. As far as shops, I'm looking hard but not finding alot. Got the 89 in the sig for Xmas from my wife and it needs work. I'll keep the group posted if I find anything. Hope others do the same.

Hello as well to Oneonta, Utica, and Clifton Park. Any good shops near Oneonta or Utica?

Toughlou - the cops have more to worry about than us these days. What brought you to the area, SUNY Albany?

whitepony, what dealership do you work for? I work at Cooley Mazda VW. We're $72.00 an hour. Labor rates are all about getting better money for warranty jobs.
I've been looking for someone to do gears on my 95. I've done all the suspension work as well as every thing else, just never had a rear end apart before, and it is my daily driver so I dont want to destroy it.
Weather is definatly starting to look better and better. I've put close to 500 miles on my 95 in the past week. Got stuck driving home the other night in the snow, but made it with out too many problems.

cynicalcriminal, Check out Rosco's. Hes up on Rte 2. Follow Congress up the hill to where 2 and 66 split, hang a left on 2, hes across the street from Stewarts. Ross builds a lot of GM's but I've seen a couple of fords in there as well. He runs a 10 second 2nd gen Camaro at the valley. Does some nice work! Also the Guys up to Wynantiskill service(on rte 66 next to Roxy Cleaners) run a fox body at the Vally as well. Alittle further away, but again, they know their stuff. I would go to either one if they were a little closer to home.

You've got that right roached. I like to do as much work as possible myself but some things you just gotta farm out. I'm limited by my garage more than anything else.

Hey whitepony my wife says she feels dissed by your comment. Just because my name is 50ldster doesn't mean she is. She wants to know why you didn't ask if she had an OLDER sister? LOL

50ldster tell you r wife I am sorry I did mean to hurt her feelings I guessed with a name like 50ldster you and your wife were older than me cause I am only 24 so no disrespect meant but if she has a sister around my age let me know.As far as doing your rearend it really is not as hard as people think it is as long as you got a lift to do it on or you pull the rearend out of the car and do it on jack stands the rear end comes out fairly easy other than that all you really need is a dial indicater and pinion depth tool and inch pound torque wrench other than those tools it is actually fairly easy but you will need someone to press the old pinion bearing off to get the shim out.I work at Wedikind Pontiac but I dont know what they would charge to do a rearend.

Thanks .. I'll keep that info on hand.

Just got the car out of storage yesterday. Now its out front (hope it doesn't snow anymore - I'm so sick of it).

Its sitting on 3 wheels/tires and a donut. I had planned to get a new set of rims (Goodyear tore the chrome off one of my rims with their mangling machine, and at $470 per rim its cheaper for me to get a whole different set when they refund me than buy another single rim - and Ebay the ones I have left) but the lay-off kinda' cramped my plan.

Can't blow any money on anything until I get the tire situation figured out. Not sure if I want to get black bullits from WheelReplicas.com or Chrome ones. Scared of chrome after this last episode but I really love the way they shine. Black car, so both the black/chrome and black/black setups would look nice ... just not sure which I'd like better.
