I have a problem with my brake lights. Previously, only one light would come on when braking, but both tailights would come on when i turned the headlights on. Today, i went into the garage, hit the brake, and the light that didnt work yesterday works today, and the one that was working doesnt work now.

So something is loose, but where could it be?

Is it the actual brake light switch on the pedal, or probably some kind of wiring thats loose behind the dash? Any ideas?

usually a brake light switch will either cause you to have no brake lights at all, or they will stay on even with the car turned off. I think you are correct about a bad connection. I would start by taking the sockets out, removing the bulbs and inspecting the contacts. I had a reverse light that wouldnt come on, suspected wiring, but it turned out that it just wasnt making good contact in the socket. If this is not the case, you may have a bad connection somewhere, especially if you have the original wiring that is now brittle and cracking. Hope this helps some.
