I replaced the WOT relay and have a full a/c charge. No leaks detected when I had the system serviced. The problem is that my a/c is hit or miss. Blows cold sometimes and warm others, as if the compressor stops running. Seems it starts to blow cold again when I rev through the gears coming from a stop but will warm up when cruising. It sounds like it could be that the compressor isn't getting enough power. I'm running an electric fan (on 100% time because its wired to a toggle - I know I've got to get a controller) without a 3g alternator. At idle, the gauge reads about 11 to 12 volts. Seems logical to me but wanted to see if that sounds right to you guys, thanks.

Did you look at the WOT relay wiring when replacing the relay? The wiring to the relay gets vulcanized and causes issues like this. Look for bare wires. You can carefully wiggle the WOT wires around and see if the compressor cuts on and off in cadence to your moving of the wires.

Good luck.

As always, great advice. I'll take a look tomorrow and see. I didn't notice any bare wires when I replaced the relay but will try wiggling them to see if it does anything.
