3G alterstart alternator

I need a new alternator because with underdrive pullies, the stock one doesn't really cut it at idle. From what I can tell, the 3G alterstart is the best overall deal. What all would I need to install it? Would I need to order the 9ft long cable from PA performance? I'm assuming it doesn't mount in the stock location just right, but what modifications to the bracket must be made?

Would getting an alternator from a 95-newer mustang be just as easy to install as the alterstart?

they are both 3g units. Same exact install procedure for both alternators. However, the alterstarts are brand new units.

You don't need to buy the cable from PA. You can make your own. As long as you use 4 guage and a fuse, its the same thing they sell, just all set up for you. See if the price of making it yourself is worth the extra bucks though.

Is there any mounting difference between the 94-95 and the 96-03 alternators? I was looking on e-bay and saw a few 130 amp ones for 94-95s, and I was wondering if that would be easier to put in than a 96-03.

I think that the modular alternators are different. You are going to have to do some light grinding to your alternator bracket to install it.(the sn 95s that is)
