Alum drive shaft install. Whats needed?

hey all,

I ordered my Drive Shaft from Steeda and I am ready to install it this weekend. Is there any other part that I may need to install the drive shaft??

Just a 12mm wrench and some red loc tite. A propane torch will also come in handy if you get break the bolts loose on your own

Do you really need the red loctite? That stuff is the anti-christ when trying to remove it.

No do not use red loctite. I bent a wrench into a U trying to get my driveshaft bolts loose and that was after I laid the torch to them. Just use some easy stuff like the blue if you really want to. I just tighten mine tight as hell and never had a problem with them coming loose.

I didn't see where anybody said that it needed to be a 12 point wrench or socket. I used a cheater pipe to loosen mine and then used it again to put them back on again. I have had no problems either.

yup, just a 12pt and a breaker bar. shouldnt take THAT long but they are a pain to break loose the first time if they are all rusted like mine were

I dident use any lock tight when I did my clutch change and everything is still tight. that was also about 10,000 miles ago.

Less rotation mass. Kinda like a lighter flywheel.

Just use a wire brush and clean them up when you pull them out. And not only does it weigh less, it is prettier too.
