I think it was out of a 4wd van. Bu that only swaps into a late model. I think theirs is alot shorter than ours.

use a 2wd aerostar shaft and have it shortened to length, it may not need it so check it carefully, the only i thing i don't know for sure about is the u-joints, bur there should be u joints that will fit without any problems

If it turns out to be true that would be great. If it needed to be cut what would that cost? Can't cut that with a cutting disc on your grinder. Or a chopsaw. Need good tool for that.

i had the driveshaft from my 70 cougar shortened, balanced and had had new u-joints installed for 80 bucks, aluminum might be a little more expensive but i doubt it would be much

I run a '89-91 Ford Aerostar. Paid $20 for it at the JY. It cost me $100 to have it shortened/balanced and $30 for new Spicier joints.

BTW: Starting in '91, they have correct yoke to fit T-5/Toploader.

Don't understand why more people aren't using them.

This has been posted before. From my research, you can use an aerostar aluminum driveshaft, but you will have to have it shortened, welded, and balanced. It should be done for under $150...that will include the original price of the driveshaft.

How are those minivan pieces as far as strength goes? I mean will a low 12 second small block give it any problems?
