Aargh!!!

Waiting since 1/13/05. The 800 # says helf up because of IUP. Should be scheduled shortly. Dealer says I have 2 ahead of me just scheduled. Should I have a long wait left or what. This dealer was the only one who would give x plan. Was the xplan worth having to wait this long. I see people who ordered the same car I did and are already scheduled. I ordered a GT Convert Prem with IUP shaker 1000 system and all the trimmings.

Once you are serialized you will still probably have another month to wait. If you are right behind 2 people that were just scheduled then I would imagine you don't have much longer to wait for serialization, but I don't know how much allotment your dealer has either. There are a few guys on this forum that know a lot about how this stuff works or work at a dealer and I am sure they could give you a better idea then I can. Good luck!

Feel your pain

Believe me, I feel your pain & frustration. I ordered my baby on 1/22/05 with X-Plan and $1000 deposit. Received my VOC that day and walked away thinking she would be built and delivered by 4/1 at the latest. Little did I know that apparently dealerships have a certain number of GT's alloted for order/assembly and I kept waiting and waiting. I received my VIN# this past Friday 4/8 and received confirmation today that she is set for assembly on 4/25 (along with several other member's here).

Now, what pisses me off about this entire process is not the fact that everybody and their brother wants a GT and the demand is high. I'm pissed because my dealer sucks at communicating the process with me and I've had to stay on their arse to find out what is going on.

Keep the faith and stay on their ass about the status of your vehicle. As soon as they give you the VIN#, your car should be on the assembly line 3 weeks after that. It seems the majority of us received our VIN# on Friday and assembly date is 3 Mondays after.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Vin #

You got your vin from your dealer?

So if I want my car by the 1st wk ib June then I need a build date by the 2nd Monday in May?

I called the 800 # and they are not updated, they are still on the 7th. I will try in the morn and hopefully serialized.

Yes - the inventory manager at my dealership emailed the VIN# to me this past Friday. Keep in mind I ordered the car on 1/22/05 and have stayed on their ass all this time. I realize they have no control over when the build is going to happen, but the lack of communication was driving me insane. Check out the thread started by stangscuba98a (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=533673) and you will see all of us who have a build week of April 25.

My dealership actually "forgot" to call me when my order was serialized. About 2 weeks after ordering my car (on 3/3/05) I emailed them and they said that they had recieved the VIN a week and a half after I ordered. I was kind of pissed that they didn't call me, but at least I knew I wasn't going to have to wait 4+ months like some unfortunate people here.

I ordered my 2005 GT (Satin Silver, 5-spd, IUP, red leather) on 3/9/05. Was pretty excited since I was getting the D-Plan price (my brother is the fleet manager) until I received an email from him yesterday saying that due to demand, it might get carried over to a 2006.

After seeing pics of the 2004 show car, this might be a good thing. The color of the show car is "titanium" and will be offered with the 2006s as "Tungsten". The 18" wheels will be available as well.

I told him that if it does get carried over to an '06, to change 3 things......

1. Color to Tungsten
2. Wheels (want those 18s)
3. Change interior color to charcoal leather. Red doesn't look right for some reason.

Here's the link of the new color and wheels. I basically told him I want THIS CAR!! Even the stripes look awesome in Satin Silver.

A part of me wants my 2005 for the summer but another part is drooling over the 06. Time will tell I guess.

Rut Roh - can you verify the link for the '06 Stang? I tried and received an "error not found" message.

I really like the titanium color on the '06s. Kind of in between Mineral Grey and Satin Silver, very cool.

FRB427,
The number is 800-962-3746. This is used by the dealers to check status of cars. You will get a auto-attendent / voice response system. You will need the following:

Dealer Number
Manufacture (Ford)
Model Type (ex: T82 - GT Coupe Premium)
Year (2005)
VIN/Order Number

Hope this helps. You should have gotten a DORA or a VOC from the dealer when you placed your order.

That was a pic of the 2004 showcar. Not sure if they are going to change anything other than colors and offer 18s. Dealers should be getting 2006 info in mid-May. I just want one! 2005 or 2006! GIMME NOW!
