Well heres the problem. This just started the end of last week. Ill start the car, runs great, then 10 minutes into it, the radiator blows out half the coolant into the overfill, which obviously shoots out of that. so car overheats...i pull over fill it up. Then it will not do it the rest of the day. runs great too. I rebuilt this motor less than 10k ago and am wondering if my heads are warped from the overheating several times once i first blew a head gaskets last summer. im going off to school and might just ripped the motor out a day before i go since it wont be used till april anyways.

Do you guys think its a head gasket? raidiator cap?. There are no leaks, no coolant in the oil what so ever. Im stumped. I know to look for bubbles which there might be but so small im not positive. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

i put in a new thermo last year too :(. thanks for the info, ill just buy some used afr's or new TW's if i have to. but ill be at school, which means doing a work study to pay for those.

i had a similar problem. my problem was i did not know about the fill line for the overflow. i filled it all the way up causing it to shoot the coolant out the little hole near the top of the overflow. it might be to much coolant/water in the system.

What temp is your stat? You did not mention what the car will run at just before your coolant dumps, or what temp you run after this happens.

It seems to me that there is a problem with the stat sticking when cold. Or, maybe you have air pockets forming somewhere in the system which are causing localized overheating?

I would try changing out the stat (either 180F or stock), and flushing the system. Hold off on assuming that the heads are bad, especially if it will be difficult to afford new ones.
Good Luck.
