A Toyo-tires representitive came into my tech school yesterday. After his presentation, he added that he is letting all students from the school a 30-day Employee Discount on ALL toyo tires. So i will get the tires @ cost. Including light truck, off-road and passenger tires made by toyo.

I want to know your input on what toyo tires you think i should get. I personally was JUST about to go out and by some BFGoodrich tires this weeekdn, but i'm getting TOYOs now!!

I'm looking at getting 4 Toyo Proxes RA1

Let me know if you have anyother better ideas. I think these will be great summer drag radial type tires for me on the street and track

Also let me know what tires sizes you guys are running on your 17x9 & 17x10.5" wheels. (just want to know your tire sizes if you have those sizes only)

Currently i am running 245/45/17 (up front) and 275/40/17 (rear). And would like to change to:
- FRONT: 255 or 265/45/17
- REAR: 295 or 315 (if toyo has these in that size)/40/17

Corner carvers like the Proxes. Drag racers prefer drag radials or slicks. I'd say get them to resell them. Unless you like racing around corners.

There you go, UDT. Get the Proxes, tack on shipping, and hook a brother up! Then go get your BFGs.

I highly HIGHLY doubt they'd let me buy more than 4 tires, so forget e-bay. Not to mention im in need of tires BAD.

Sorry i dont think i can hook you guys up, but i'll look into it.

So what do you guys think of these 1st tires? Are they a drag-radial type tire or no? They sure look it, but i can't find any detailed info on them except they are good for a road coarse...not sure about a drag strip though...

no. they use toyos on like the porsche and audi cup cars (lemans type things) they are not made for drag racing, although im sure they would work. just not as well as some radials or something.

Can anyone find me some Toyo drag radials? I can't find any...maybe they dont make any lol. Well i'll just have to use these for the drag strip =) They'll be good on the road too since my car is a daily driver.

Toyo Proxes are decent tires, if you can get a deal on them I say go for it. They will wear out soon enough and then you can equip something else.

HAHAHAH!!! i just called STS who is a Toyo tire distributor. They are hooking me up with this "employee discount" deal on these tires. This is their prices WITH my discount:

Toyo Proxes RA1 (as pictured in my 1st post)
255/40/17 = $149 each
275/40/17 = $163 each

And i need 4 tires, so thats 2 front (255) and 2 rear (275), grand total WITH TAX is = $661

THAT is a deal?!?!! Thats expensive as hell!!!!

Forget Toyos man, im going to shop around!
