Some of you may know that I'm just a huge engineering/automotive nerd. Well, this is one of the most interesting videos I've seen in a very long time.
This video was taken by someone on the 2.3 forum I frequent. They were testing water/meth injection before the turbo and took a video of the compressor inlet as they were injecting the water/meth. Be patient or skip to about 40 seconds where the action starts. You can hear the turbo spool up, then all hell breaks loose as it sucks in huge quantities of air and water. Then, they let off the throttle and there are some very interesting airflow's going on.

Well, hopefully some other automotive geek can enjoy too: YouTube - 99GSTracer's Channel

I too consider myself an automotive/engineering geek (albeit one with a lot more hands on experience on cars and equipment than your average non-geek). I found that pretty interesting. What exactly was going on when the turbo quit spooling? I thought the blow-off valve would take care of any air going backwards in the intake.

Here is another video from the same event: YouTube - 99GSTracer's Channel

On intercooler pipe, just before the throttle body I can see a blow off valve and even saw it blow some wires around when it let off. Of course, some backflow will still occur because you are cutting the throttle off so quickly and the area infront of the turbo is low pressure.

BTW, he was making around 450hp at the crank, which is pretty substantial airflow.
