So I decided to give americanmuscle.com the benefit of the doubt and ordered two new black bullitt wheels (18x10) for the rear of my car. Well, the UPS delivery person showed up at my door today, literally 2 minutes before I started writing this thread, with one of the two wheels and first thing I noticed was the box was opened. The UPS person apologizes and says "Sorry man, they just threw it in my truck like this. Did you wanna open it up and take a look at it before you sign for it?" I open the box and unpack the wheel and find a very noticeable ding on the edge of the rim. Now im not blaming AM for this but it could have been packaged better. Maybe I'm just having bad luck with going through this company? I dunno. Hopefully the other rim shows up tomorrow in good shape.

This seems more like a shipper problem rather than an AM problem, although they could've probably packed the rim better.

Now you're going to have to deal with UPS with insurance

I wouldn't blame AM - I'd blame eff'n UPS. When I recieved my rims (black bullitts), 1 of the boxes were damaged from shipping. The guy from UPS stated that its from packing at the UPS warehouse. Boxes are tossed EVERYWHERE. He also told me that if you complain to UPS on how it was handled - they will cover replacing it. AM would not send out a damaged box. Those boxes are packaged real good and safe for normal shippment.

I have a buddy that works for UPS and I hear alot of stories of the chit that goes on there.

Yea i have stopped shipping anything UPS. More than a few times i had recieved boxes that have been trashed and i know one of the people i sent something to said it was trashed when they received. It sucks, because you can't choose what company is used to ship this stuff, but i would recommend Fed-ex or USPS for everything.

Having worked in a UPS hub loading trucks and supervising the loading of trucks, I will never ship anything via UPS.

Problem with UPS is the Drivers make anywhere from 40k-70k a year and will try to take care of your stuff BUT the clowns in the warehouse/shipping only make like $7-8 an hour and are told if they work hard they can become drivers someday...which never happens. So you have a ton of under paid unhappy people smashing your boxes around.

Fed Ex isn't much better.

A UPS rule from an employee that worked there is that "the package has to be able to withstand being thrown 11 feet."

Same with your luggage if you are flying an airline.
