Hi All :)

I need help deciding between two 5 channel amps and would like opinions, advice, and any expert knowledge I can get. I am on a very limited budget and have narrowed my search to two amps. The Soundstream LW5.830 and the Valor Audio VPA1005. I'm leaning towards the VPA1005 becasue of hte power, smaller foot print, and SNR (102db vs 92db), however, the LW5.830 would be easier to install, no RCA plug to the amp for the sub. Just curious which is the better amp for the money and why,

Thanks

Never heard of Valor Audio so I would be wary of them. But I have heard of, used and currently using a Soundstream Mono Bass Amp for my sub. The last Soundstream amp I had was back in the 90's and that thing was a brick. Never had any problems with it and I have never had a problem with the one I have now. I would go with Soundstream.

Thanks all. I really appreciate the help. I did a bit of research and the Soundstream is the way to go. Brand new, regular $750 (or so they say) for $174 with a two year warranty. Seems hard to beat :)

Thanks

Thanks for all the advice, I really appreciate it :)
I did check out Zapco, they are awesome, however, they are also very expensive :( If I could, I would have purchased a Baby Belle from Memphis Car Audio.
After further investigation I could not confirm that the Soundstream would handle a 2 Ohm load on the sub channel. I pulled down the user manual and everything and only saw a 4 - 8 Ohm rating. So, after much debate, I purchased a Kicker ZX700.5 with a dedicated class D sub channel rated down to 2 ohms :) It arrives Wednesday and I can't wait to install it :D

The Kicker ZX is an awesome amp as well. Always been a huge fan of their speakers and I have owned several sets but never a Kicker amp. Got a friend that has one in a 350Z on a pair of Alpine 10s and it sounds great. I think you'll be happy.
