Amp problems

Ok i was driving down the road listening to music and my lights started dimming down, after which my bass cut out. My amp has done this before but i usually turn it down and it comes back on after a bit. Well this time she is not happy, its blowing the first fuse (60 amp) off the power wire from the battery a couple of seconds i turn the car on. Ive swapped amps, and the other amp worked so its not the wiring i would imagine. I pulled the amp cover off and the lands and tracks all looked good. I also checked all the fuses on my amp and they are all good. Its a kicker ZR600, pushing 2 kicker comp 15's, the power and ground wires are both like 4 gauge wire. I would like to keep this amp as it sounded great when it worked, i borrowed a fx2200 1200 watt sony explode amp and it sounded absolutely terrible compared to my zr600. Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

Try to power the amplifier up on a test bench outside of the vehicle with nothing more than the power, ground, and remote lead connected. If it blows the fuse in the same fashion, the amplifier has a problem and will need to be serviced. It sounds as if you damaged the power supply by continually running the amp with less than optimal voltage -- your post references dimming lights, etc.
