Amp Wrecked

My amp is fried is it possible that a subs magnet be too close to a amp and wreck it?

what kind of amp is it? i just sent back a blown to bits mtx 4405 (5 channel) to mtx directly and they charge 95.00 to completley rebuild it with a warranty. good luck

i'm not 100% sure but i don't think that the magnet from a sub(s) would do any harm to an amp. how close are the 2?? and what happened..any blown fuses??

They are about 2-3 inches away from the amp. What has happened is the amp doenst work anymore and everything is fine.

It's not a problem to have the amp that close to the subs. How is your ventilation though? Amps need air; especially the ones driving the subs.

The two subs and amp are built into a custom enclosure in the trunk of the Mustang. Maybe it is overheating ? Will try relocating the amp where it can run cooler and see if this helps ! Thanks.

It's definately a heating problem is the amp is running fine and then just shuts down. It's a thermal protect. Add some vents to the cusom enclosure with a fan or two...
