I'm not a 2.3 guy, but i built a 2.3L Turbo car for my buddy using his 1985 LX Hatch and an '88 Turbocoupe powerplant, drivetrain and tranny.

The eqipment is as follows:
Stock 2.3L Turbocharged Turbocoupe Motor
Stock Tranny
Stock TC disc rearend, 3.55:1 Gears.
Stock Injectors, VAM, Computer Ect.

Adjustable fuel pressure regulator, Adjustable Boost controller set at 20 PSI

Non-Functional Intercooler, the hood isn't complete yet, he is having the Turbocoupe "nostrils" grafted into the Mustang Hood.

We ran it at the local dragstrip yesterday, it ran 14.89@90.5 MPH

Is this a good ET for a mainly stock TC motor with a non-functional intercooler, 20 PSI of boost and Fuel pressure set a 40 PSI?

Thanks.

Sounds right to me.
It should be quicker in a Mustang but seeing how the boost isnt exactly cooled...

Cool, not being a 2.3L guy i thought that was decent. Yea, it was only 60 deg. out yesterday at race time so we could crank the boost a little more than usual, otherwise it pings real bad and we have to set the boost way lower, depending on temperature. I'm hoping for a low 14 with the intercooler functional.

Thanks.

I agree.

The SVOs was running stock with ICs from 15.5 to 15.0 at 15 psi of boost I believe. Just think what you would do with a IC and 20 psi in a mustang

Cool, Sounds like a winner to me. The hood is complete now, just have to wait for the next time to race and see what it will do. Thanks!
