I am thinking of upgrading from the stock valve covers on my 306 and really like the look of these Anderson covers.

1. Valve Covers

They don't look like the come with hardware but I figured I would post up and see if anyone had had experience with them.

Thanks,

KHibbs

Do your stock valve covers currently not cover the rockers? Seems like a waste of $120.

I had those on my 94GT with 347 and with a strut tower brace installed the passenger side cover would hit the brace. It would leak oil because the filler neck was bent. Had to ditch the brace to run these. Other than that they are great. This was 4 years ago when those same valve covers were $89.

On the 92GT we are running Anderson Ford Motorsport double breather valve covers with no PCV.

Thanks for the feedback.

The LX I recently acquired is about 99% done in my book so I was thinking of maybe going to these valve covers to replaced the stock ones that were painted but are bubbling/peeling a bit. Not a necessity item but something I may put on the "wish list".

You could always strip the stock ones and then polish them. They would look much better. If my rockers fit under the stock covers thats what I would have done. I'd paint the fins color of car. Saves you $120 too. It does take time though so air tools-die grinder with sanding disc, then move to 220 grit (go with grain), move to 600 grit, 800 grit, 1500 grit wet sand then polishing wheel, done. Sounds hard but not too bad. Intakes take longer.

I didn't realize that they are alum and could be polished. I did some work similar to your intake for the intake on my GTI years ago and it came out great. The only challenge was it needed to be cleaned and polished often. I am not sure how much access I will have under the GT40 intake but that is good to know.

The current covers work fine and cover my roller rockers so I have plenty of time if I decide that I want to upgrade to some Andersons. Thanks for all the feedback... glad to know that people have them and like them.
