I have a 1992 GT 5 speed that I am trying to get roadworthy again. I had to replace the engine. The engine sounds well at idle.
The KOEO codes are 34 and 85. The ERG has been blocked by a plate at the valve. The canister purge was pulled out by the roots. I will try to replace the Canister Purge system when time allows.
The car is presently unlicensed and uninsured so I have very little road time on it. The car wants to buck and jump when releasing the clutch in first gear and when shifting into second and third gears. The bucking is so violent that you need to push the clutch in and release it again
The car seems to run better at mid range unless you floor the accelerator. When its floored the car falls on its face for a good two - five seconds before it begins to accelerate.
Timing is 10 BTDC with the spout out. I have used two factory distributors (easier to restab a distributor that change out the parts). I replaced the plug wires. I put a new TPS on. Set it at .98 volts. I have looked for vacuum leaks and found none.
I am going to unhook the O2 sensors and try again.
What else would you look at ?
Vehicle speed sensor ? How do you check it?

Sounds like fuel or lack there of. Any popping thru the exhaust? Check the fuel pressure, tps voltage, and make sure there's no vacuum leaks (like the charcoal canister). What kind of injectors are you using? What type MAF? What is on the new enginge that differed from the old?
