Is this plug blowout a problem for all modulars? Damn, and just to think I've been changing my plugs now for the last 5 years on my car without a torque wrench and tightening them down pretty snug. I'll be definitely paying more attention next time around.

All 4.6 or 5.4 2V head mod motors, yes.

sorry i didnt mean to come off as being the know-it-all and telling you it shouldve been torqued to 13 ft./lbs. juss trying to be helpful by the option of the timesert kit when im done with it. i didnt know about the bad design of the head till this incident. so i guess the only preventative thing we can all do is to check the torque on all of our spark plugs every other oil change. if i was told this before of course....i wouldve done it. but some people just have to learn the hard way. including me. i know this is exactly what im gonna do after i repair my head. best of luck to you and i hope you get your car running the way it was before!

What kind of settlement could be feasible...new heads? The plastic intake settlement was limited to certain models, not all mod motors.

If there is a settlement, you're talking big bucks here. Potentially every police cruiser, taxi, town car, etc. would be affected. I wonder how widespread this issue is with these vehicles as well.
