I'm in the process of aquiring parts for my auto to t5 conversion in my '70.

My car came with power brakes. If I buy a clutch pedal assembly for manual brakes, can I swap in the brake pedal from my automatic assembly and just trim down the brake pad?

I asked that here before and I believe that would work. Before you do that however, take a look at this thread for 69's. The general idea here is that the automatic assembly is already ready to accept a clutch pedal.

yep, you can add a clutch pedal to the auto assy and cut down the 'wide' brake pedal. Easiest way to do it.

Thanks for the info guys.

Just picked this up on ebay. Only $40: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...m=140022281891&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=004

Hope the theory about being able to just add the clutch pedal to the existing assembly is correct.

Oh.. and I hope the 69/70 pedals are the same.

the 69/70 pedal assemblies are different. the 70 is wider than the 69 by a good bit and there are other differences. that's why i referred you to the thread on the other forum. there is a lot of info in the thread i was talking about. here is a link or two

http://www.1969stang.com/mustang/forum/showthread.php?t=1487&page=2&highlight=clutch+pedal

hope this will help you out. by the way consider this an official invite for the 69 forum. lot's of good info over there. nothing can take the place of stangnet though so don't anyone get pissy with me

Thanks for the info bnickle. I know the pedal assemblies are different, I'm just hoping the the pedals themselves are the same.

I did register over at 1969mustang.com BTW. Great forum and I noticed you are a mod over there.

no problem. glad to help. yeah at the moment i'm the only mod besides the owner. streetgrande69 is also a mod over there, but he goes by trinitys over there, but at the moment he's out on his submarine, at least i think they are still out anyway. yeah, there is a lot of good info specific to the 69/70 cars there. a lot of really nice cars too, and the people are all really cool. we haven't had hardly any a-holes there at all, i really like it there.
