before i bought my 1995, i had a 1996 GT that had a cobra hood. i love that hood.

then when i bought the 1995 that i have now, it had a cobra bumper. and since i loved the cobra hood from the 1996, i swapped it onto the 1995.

so now my stang has both a cobra bumper and a cobra hood.

people probably think i'm trying to pretend like i have a cobra, but it just sort of happened that way and that was never my intention.

that said ....

at this point, since it looks on the outside more like a cobra than not, and since ... well let's just say it is probably a little faster than a cobra, maybe i should just get some cobra emblems and gauges and finish the fobra thing, even though that was not ever my plan.

thoughts?

the previous owner had 5.8 badges on my car when I bought it. mine has a 03cobra style bumper & a cobra R hood so I went ahead & put the cobra emblems on it as well. had them on there for about 6mos.
I just debadged it last week because I was always getting asked "wow you have a cobra?" or "does it really have a 5.8 in it?" & "I didn't know they put 5.8's in those" ect...... I got tired of all of the questions, now people just look at it & don't say anything except "sounds awesome man!"...
IMO, go with what you like the look of. I personally really like the badgeless look. if you want some cobra badges....PM me. I've got a nice set right next to me...going up for sale soon.....LOL

mine is de-badged right now too, and it has holes where the badges used to be. the holes bug me.

what did you do with your holes?

i was also thinking that maybe it'd be cool to put some of those vent things there instead of badges, something along these lines ...

they are actually not a bad price, $40

i think those vents would look amazing!

i'm proud to own a GT personally. I get asked from time to time about if its a cobra and when i say its a GT, they go oohh and sound disappointed. I could care less. I know what the car is, i don't need Ford to tell me what is better. I make it better myself. Those GT badges will remain on my fender forever.

That being said, you do what you want but I say strut that GT with pride! If they ask say its about the look not what it is.

The venti-ports seem to be making a come back...it is getting more and more difficult to find a car without some sort of vent on the side...

FWIW, I kinda like the look of those vents. But, I would never get rid of my GT badges.

As an aside, my wife's new Buick has a set of venti-ports, and my kids say "we have four port holes and they only have three" all the time...hehe :)

I just went badgeless with mine. Got all the holes filled in, if i had have been thinking straight, I'd have loved to the get the entire "Mustang GT" filled in as well on the rear bumper

Chris I see you ordered so this won't matter to you. i know a while back when I was on 460ford.com a lot, there was a guy that made badges. He only did it every so often but you could get him to make pretty much anything.

I thought about getting some 365 badges for my Ram
