I posted here a while back about a run in with ChP which the officer was totally cool considering how many laws I violated. Well, I have a new one to tell...

I'm on Burbank BLVD near Burbank....I am sitting at a light staring off to the left at this pretty girl...of course...when I look back to the right the light is green and folks have long since started off. So I jump the clutch and end up doing quite a nice little burnout, honestly not intended. Was just caught off guard.

In the process I cut off and passed the car in the right lane; the two lanes merge down to one. It was not my intention, it just happened as a side effect of me jumping the clutch.

Well that car I cut off was a Burbank Police car....lovely.

I get about 20 yards and he pops the lights. I quickly get over, turn the car off, set the keys on the dash, and place my hands on the steering wheel. He approaches.

Me: Hey ya. I am sorry! It was a total mistake, I jumped the clutch after seeing green. I was looking left and when I looked back it was green, I kind of panicked and hit it and well..just a silly mistake.

PD: So you know why I pulled you over then.

Me: Yes. It was not intentional, just a dumb mistake.

PD: So you didn't do it because you saw us?

Me: No, no. I only do that to the guys driving the Chargers [said jokingly]. Cause they look cool.

PD: [he tries HARD to hold back laughing...and fails. "Alright well I am glad you were honest. You drive safe and take it easy."

Me: Thank you and you guys have a safe weekend.

PD: You didn't only do that because you saw us?

Why would you do a burnout because you saw a cop? Isn't that backwards?

Well done in any case. Reminds me of one time in high school, I was at a 4 way stop sign in my dart. At this time the car had longtubes and dumped 1 chamber flows, so it made some noise. At this stop sign I decided to take off a little and did maybe a 15 foot burnout off the line. After that, I noticed that the car RIGHT behind me was an unmarked chicago police car. He pulled me over real quick, I turned the engine off and waited. It was two narcotics officers, and he said "what the hell is wrong with you boy?" And I told him "I'm really sorry sir. I just finished putting a new convertor in the car at school and wanted to make sure it was stalling at the right RPM. I know, I'm stupid and shouldn't do that here". The cop says "boy I aint gonna fall for that ****. You got any drugs on ya?" "no sir" "good, what about your friend, he looks like he does drugs" my friend said "I do sir, but I don't have any on me". then the cop said "ok now, drive safe. If I see you do that **** again I'm gonna impound your car." After he left I was afraid to start the engine untill he drove away haha.

This was before I bought my Mustang, and was with a car that had a right outside mirror with regular glass (not convex), so there was a pretty big blind spot to the right rear.

I drove up an entrance ramp to a freeway from a city street. I accelerated fairly fast, but did not peel any rubber and there was no car next to me. A black and white pulled up behind me, and I moved one lane to the left. I was driving about 5 mph under the speed limit, just to be on the safe side. He stayed in his lane, right in my blind spot. I knew he was there because there was no place else he could be! I also knew that his lane became an exit only lane in a short distance. When we got to the exit point, he pulled over and was right behind me again. I just kept driving 5 mph under the speed limit. After a minute or so, he pulled over to the lane to my left, passed me, and kept going. He had something on his mind, but I don't know what it was!

i was on a lonely parkway in a downtown area, and it was late, i was in my 97 Cobra conv w/OR x pip and flowmasters. that i just bought a week earlier and Just registered that day. Stopped at a red light i look around only a lone car behind me, light goes green, and i take off like a top fuel dragster, i hit 1st, 2nd and 3rd (in a 25MPH) as i hit 3rd i let off cause another red light is ahead of me. as the backfiring and sputtering quiet down i hear sirens and look in my rear view and there are the blues. Apparently the "lone" car behind me at the red light i started at was an unmarked car.
He asked how long i had , owned the car and said "you know what will happen if i give you a ticket?" me thinking to myself "i would pay it and be on my way..." but instead i said "no what" ...cop says "your insurance goes up an dyou won't be driving it anymore...but i know what it is like, I own a mustang so i won't be the one to let that happen..." and he let me go.

While he was running my plates his sidekick "all big and tuff" walk up and asked "how fast do you think you were going?" I knew that since i hit 3rd i was in the ball park of 80-85 so i answered him as truthfully as i could and said "50-55??" cause that wouldn't get me thrown in jail. He laughed and walked away.
