OK so I am new to the 5.0 and the $12K fox I just bought has more problems then Brittany Spears (the previous owner actually is/was a member on this forum) and I did a search and still am confused about what spark plug to go with. The car is currently being nursed back to life and the question is what spark plug for my mods:

* TF Twisted Wedge Heads (slightly ported)
* TF Track Heat Intake
* FMS F-Cam
* MSD 6a/MSD coil/MSD cap&rotor/FRPP 9mm wires/Accel ignition module

I have read Autolite 24's, or 25's or 3924's or stock Motorcraft plugs...also what type of gap. Is this in in-exact science and just need to gap and check and then check again and re-gap......man I wish never sold the 04' Cobra. Please help...thanx in advance.

You'll want whatever TF recommends. It's likely to be something from the 3000 series. No need to guess though.

For gap, it isnt a science. Just try a gap and if you get a cut-out, close the gap.

Good luck.

Here is what TrickFlow recommends for its TW heads...

TrickFlow TW Head - Spark Plug Options
AC FR3LS
Autolite 3924
Champion RC9YC
NGK FR5

Gap will vary, but stock is a good place to start...

I just posted this exact same info in another thread yesterday. It would be good to do a search before posting a new problem. The answers are usally there. Google is also a great tool. I always search for the manufacturer and look through there install instructions or specs. You usally can find the answers there. As virstang noted stock gap would be a good place to stark. That being .050. Probably going down as far as .044 would be ok on a N/A engine. If you plan on running nitrous or another power adder then .035 is where you would want to be.

Wow someone giving me the "try the search feature" response...I am not a newb and did search and did not find what I was looking for. I spent about an hour going thru the tech section after doing a search, maybe I missed your thread, it can happen. Thanx for the heads up. I have been a member on here for a very long time mostly in the modular/cobra forums and usually tried to let the new guys know about the search feature, not a member who has been on here for more than 3 years. I do appreciate your actual info you gave me on my original question though.

I know I'm sorry. I am probably as guilty as anyone for not using the search. It just was funny because I posted the same info. That being said I'm not a complete a$$ because as you mentioned (and I thank you for that ) I was still willing to help.
