So my girlfriend has a 2007 Mustang v6. She has had the car since it came out. She said she has never done anything to it (maintenance wise) since she bought it. It now has 94k miles and is started to have issues. The specific issue comes from the fuel pump. Well one morning it would not start, so she called AAA to tow her vehicle. She said the guy hit the fuel tank with a piece of wood and it started. She took it to a mechanic and they replaced the fuel pump. The issue continues. When you turn the key to ON, and you are supposed to hear the fuel go to the engine, well it just makes this noise that is similar to a dead battery. Now it is not the battery and there is not a power issue. The noise is a subtle sound that can be heard if you listen carefully. Does anyone have an idea what is going on? When the mechanic replaced the pump did they not do it correctly? I am also looking for the fuel pump relay if you know where that is. Thanks.

She definitely needs a complete tuneup. I bet that would resolve a lot of issues. There's definitely oil that needs to be changed most important of all and being the car is 7 years old definitely would need a new battery.. even if the old one still seems okay. Battery life is around 5 years. I'd be surprised if there was no corrosion at the terminals yet. Other than a new set of tires, I'm sure everything else should be fine. A complete tuneup not only changes the oil but other needed fluids as well and may check your wires/spark plugs and filters. But yeah, she definitely needs to start taking care of her vehicle. You take care of your vehicle, it takes care of you.
