I bought my 91 mustang recently and the antenna wire was broken, i just got the base and wire from a used auto parts shop and was trying to figure out how to install it. Is it necesary to remover the front fender or is there a much easier way that inexperienced me couldn't figure out. Any help before i demolish my car would be greatly appreciated

if i can remember, the base can be unplugged from the ant. lead, there should be no need to remove the fender, maybe just the splash shield if anything.

I was hoping that you would say that, do you know where the wire comes through into the interior of the car. Because when i tried to pull this part off of a car in a junk yard i could find it and the cord always ended up breaking.

I THINK it comes through at the kick panel and then goes up and through the firewall.

when you remove the arial cap on the fender there should be screws to mount it to the fender. now with it loose from the fender go inside underneath anf find the antena plug, it will most likely be at a 90% angle ,straighten it out. tightly secure a piece of 12-14 gauge wire on the end of the plug in . being very carefull pull the antena slowly up through the fender. if you are succsessful at pulling it all the way through the smaller wire would have came through with it. if it did then take the end of that small wire and connect it to the plug end of the new antena and from inside agian carefully pull it through until the plug shows up hope this works for you it did for me.
